Furniture is alot like TOOTHpaste...?!
Furniture is a lot like TOOTHpaste... ??
Got your attention didn't I? It was interesting helping a couple on Saturday morning with their new furniture selection. The luxury of my job is meeting some very intelligent people, that teach me things to better my future... in all areas of life!
As we went about our furniture endeavor, we had reached the stage of the game where we sit and select the fabrics. 99% of the human race is aware of what it means to face the enormous GIANT of fabric selection when looking to pick the "perfect" material for your specific furniture frame.
The great part of my job...? EVERYTHING!! To be honest...most of my clients are not very "artistic," and I say this in a very respectful manner. We all have our own talents/gifts! :) As we sit at the table looking over the many different selections of fabrics, my client looked at me, and asked if I had ever read about the "frustration" over the toothpaste purchase marketing dilemma? I looked a slight bit "clueless," because "no" I had not been keeping up with toothpaste, nor its marketing. As he continued his conversation though he caught my attention... he asked " how do you go about picking out your toothpaste, when you head to the shopping center?" I stopped to think about that...?
"Shopping for toothpaste can be very frustrating!"
Take a minute to think about how many different brands, and all of their claims? How do you really make an intelligent decision when picking out toothpaste?
I mean SERIOUSLY?? There is everything from fresh breath while you sleep, (ya right) to whitening, fighting gum disease, etc., etc... You all know the claims!! I am surprised they have not come up with some type of gimmick that claims, "toothpaste can grow teeth!!" lol I am getting a little off track.
So how does furniture relate to toothpaste? It really doesn't, but how you purchase it... DOES relate!!
If you really research lower end, middle of the line, and higher line furniture products you will find that they are produced a lot a like, as well as, toothpaste. I'm sure many of the same ingredients are implemented in several of the toothpaste lines, and brands.
Now where exactly am I going with this conversation?
Both toothpaste, and furniture have something very unique in common when you start understanding the concept what both are actually marketing? It's not really what the product is doing for you, but WHERE you want to purchase the product from!! (ok, so some of it is what the product does for you, but bare with me!) AHHHHHHH...now you are starting to get the point. Many of the brands in both categories contain several of the same factors, but it's the consumer's choice as to where they want to purchase their product...which then allows us to ask the MILLION dollar question?
Who has the BEST customer service?
I'm of course very Bias in my opinion when it comes to furniture shopping. I mean really... you walk into a furniture store with qualified, educated designers of several years, and it comes as a free service! Here at Montgomery's we offer thousands of choices, which like toothpaste could be confusing to the average guy/gal walking the street looking for a piece of furniture, BUT it’s the service within the building that makes Montgomery's Furniture Distinctive to its class, when it comes to design, and furniture sells... it really is an Experience. So I say the same about toothpaste, it's your choice where you decide to go when it comes to price, and customer service.
When it comes right down to it with purchasing Furniture, and toothpaste... it may be very overwhelming, and frustrating with so many choices, and claims...but it's the Customer Service, and Experienced Salesmanship inside the doors of the name of the business who will ultimately make, or break the claims about how great the actual product really is!
Moral of the story... I had a great customer conversation this morning!? Ha or ...Shop Montgomery's, ask for JILL... and go out feeling "mentally fresh" in your furniture, and design experience. Shopping for furniture, and toothpaste does NOT need to be frustrating! As far as toothpaste...anything with whitening makes me happy.
Hope to see you all very soon, if and when you are in the market for Re-design, or New design within your four walls!
Many bright white smiles wished for you all!
